Recently I attended a day workshop on how to build your own frames.  It’s not something that is necessarily feasible for me at the moment, but it’s definitely something I would like to try in the future.

It's a bear grid! Making another waterproof sittin It's a bear grid! Making another waterproof sitting mat but have used a chalk pen to create quilting stitch guides. I forgot to test it will come off okay though! Might end up as green bears! Also a bit concerned I may accidentally smudge/erase the marks while stitching other lines but we will see - probably could have have just gone for it but fancied a line to follow. #quilting #bearfabric #chronicallysewn

I bought the fabric last month but was reluctant to start as I knew the mens tshirt pattern I had didn't fit great and I wasn't sure where to start with adjusting it. However, @politics_passmore liked the fit of the shop bought tshirt on the left so I thought I'd make a pattern of it before it disintegrated 😂 It was a lot of fun getting completing absorbed in the project and I'm really pleased with it. Also relieved the fabric didn't end up in the stash for years! #sewingtshirt #sewing #chronicallysewn #avocadofabric #sewingproject
Woah, I've edited a video!! It's a tutorial! It's Woah, I've edited a video!! It's a tutorial! It's a waterproof sitting mat. After all the outdoor meet ups, I thought I'd wait until the UK removed all restrictions before making something which would have been quite useful at one point - but nevermind, it's still very practical and keeps you dry if you want to sit down while out and about. It's essentially a miniature picnic mat. You can find the video on YouTube and I've even written a blog post with the instructions. Hopefully others will find it useful and it's a nice quick make - just what I needed after a decent break from sewing. If you do make it, I'd love to see it - just tag me in your photo ☺️ #sewingtutorial #waterproofsittingmat #sewingvlog #chronicallysewn

Ive started to create a database of all the patter Ive started to create a database of all the patterns I've got! I nabbed @dr_passmore raspberry pi wildlife camera, positioned it over my craft table, took photos of the front and back of patterns, and then @dr_passmore taught me some python to rename the files and then log it in a csv file! Still got to photograph more, but the python code makes it really quick to file away and log. Once they're all initially logged, I'll start expanding on the information I have on them to help find suitable patterns when I need them. #python #coding #sewing #pythonlearning #sewingpatterndatabase #sewingpatterns

However, I'm managing to persevere for now. Phill built a raspberry pi high quality camera which fits nicely on a ring studio light and provides a good overhead view of my craft table - great for documenting makes! This picture shows the view as I worked on a design a couple of days ago. #100daysoftextilecards #freemachineembroidery #freemotionembroidery
After giving it a miss in 2021, I thought I'd give After giving it a miss in 2021, I thought I'd give #the100dayproject another go in 2022! This time, I'm going for a broader theme of 100 textile cards. I won't be sharing every day like last time, but will do a roundup post every 10 cards which will show the latest ones made. I may do a vlog on YouTube every 10 days too but I'm not sure yet... we will see! This project has the benefit of motivating me to get some cards made for occasions in advance instead of leaving it to the last minute like I usually do! The same design may be used more than once but different textile techniques will be explored. #textiles #100daysoftextilecards #textilecards

With sewing not going too well at the moment, I've With sewing not going too well at the moment, I've been planning my next big knitting project courtesy of a recent Women's Weekly magazine - I've taken a photocopy so I could mark the size I need to follow without messing up the original in case I want to make it again in another size. Knitting and crocheting are a lot more appealing to me at the moment while I try to figure out how to sew again. While many have acquired hobbies in lockdown, I've sort of done the reverse and lost a couple along the way! However, there's a bit of change on the horizon which might shift things. #womensweekly #knitting

I recorded this footage back in June but I'm so out of the habit of editing and bringing it all together that I've only just got a decent edit sorted 😂 getting a stinking cold and bronchitis at the voice-over stage did not help... It's a bit different to my usual videos but I really enjoyed this make - hopefully I'll be able to publish in the next week 🤗 #sewing #crafting #youtube #clobbercreations #videoediting

I like the idea of the painted fabric only showing up when the light is switched on but the stitched design being visible all the time. Also need to work out a design which will loop up at the join nicely.
